Barry moved to the Mat-Su Valley from North Western, Pennsylvania. He started working with Point Blank Firearms in 2023, and helped design, and build the only civilian-use shoot house in Alaska for Point Blank.
While working for the Telemedicine Directorate at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., Barry was tasked to design and build a pilot-program reality-based firearms arms training concept for the severely injured combat wounded troops returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. The program offered the troops reality-based training scenarios before heading to the actual firing lines to qualify with their service weapons. The program provided a way to promote confidence in handling the firearms using adaptive techniques in cross-dominance shooting, reloading, and safe handling of firearms. The program is now standard-of-care at all major military medical centers.
