Although born and raised in Chicago, it never felt like it was where I belonged. Alaska called and I went. It has been home now for 40 yrs. It was only a bit over 12 years ago (2012) that I began my journey with learning/ practicing the use of firearms. It began as occasional visits to the local range, as a unique way to spend time with the husband and turned into something considerably more. Over the time, I have taken classes from many different instructors, in basic and more advanced skills, hand guns, rifle, ARs, as well as multiple CCW courses (always love to learn from someone new whom might have a different technique or tip to learn about) . I also become fairly active with shooting sports/events at our favorite area range. The journey has been and continues to be a challenging but an intensely satisfying one. One of the things I have found the most fulfilling is assisting others in the beginnings of their own journey. Being a woman and discovering firearms later in life, I feel I have a unique view on some of the challenges many women face when choosing, using and practicing with firearms .
