Shane was born in Missoula, Montana and moved to Eagle, River, Alaska at the age of 11. Shane joined the ROTC program at Chugiak High School where he first found his love for shooting. After his sophomore year, he moved back to Montana to live with his father. Upon high school graduation, Shane joined the Marine Corps as an Infantry Assaultman. Shane is a 3rd generation Marine, following in his father and grandfathers footsteps; in addition, Shane’s son Cameron is the 4th generation to join the Corps. Upon completion of the Marines, Shane joined the Alaska Army National Guard as an Aircraft refueler, and was a member of the Demand Drug Reduction Program.
Following his military service, Shane worked in the oil and gas industry for 22 years, working for Schlumberger, Haliburton, Northern Solutions and British Petroleum. During this period, he worked in the fields of the North Slope, Utah, Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana, and received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Business. Shane worked as Cementer, Sales Rep, Interventions and Integrity Specialist, and a Self-Verification and Risk Engineer. Shane finished his career in the oil industry in June 2020, where he took some time off, before starting his own business
Shane is married to Heather and they have 5 children, Faith, Owen, Brooklynne, Cameron, and Chevelle. They have two dogs, Attila, and Xena, and many chickens. They are avid hunters, and love to fish, camp, and explore the wilds of Alaska.
Shane and Heather got their CCW’s together through Point Blank. It was during this course instruction that they decided they wanted to become instructors, which they completed together as well.
