"Being around guns and having them in my home, I never had the desire to touch one. June 2014, became my liberation day when I took my first Basic Pistol Instruction course from Point Blank Alaska (at that time known as Alaska Investigation Agency). Shortly thereafter, I became actively involved with The Well Armed Woman – MatSu Chapter. As my passion grew and I started to understand the need and necessity for women to become their own person and protector, I joined forces in January 2105 and assisted in bringing The Well Armed Woman Chapter to Anchorage. Serving in the capacity of Co-Leader until October 2015, I was asked to fill the position of Chapter Leader. What a way to give back to my community!
I am proud and honored to be a TWAW Certified Instructor, NRA Certified Instructor in Basic Pistol, Personal Protection in the Home and a NRA Chief Range Safety Officer. Additional training has been received from Alaska Tactical, Girls with Guns and Front Sight Firearms Training in Alaska and Nevada.
The joy I find in helping others develop their confidence, self-assurance and empowerment to become their first responder is difficult to measure. To share my passion and commitment to new shooters is, by far, one of the most rewarding and humbling experiences. "
