SGT James Richardson is a veteran of the US Army where he served with honor for eight years as a Military Police Officer. Upon completion of his military service he became a civilian police officer. Combined with his active duty service, he has twenty-one years of law enforcement experience. James is currently the Sergeant of Police at the Hodgenville Police Department in Hodgenville Kentucky. James has a background in SWAT. James attended basic SWAT through the Kentucky Tactical Officers Association and Intermediate/Advanced SWAT through the Louisville Metropolitan Police Department. James was also assigned as a sniper and attended the FBI’s basic sniper/observer school and the Kentucky State Police Advanced Sniper Course.
James is a certified firearms instructor through the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council, trained through Kentucky’s Department of Criminal Justice Training (DOCJT). He also holds training certifications through both the NRA and USCCA.
James is a Regional Coordinator for Kentucky’s Drug Evaluation and Classification Program (DECP). His other instructor certifications include Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Instructor, Advanced Roadside Impaired Driving Enforcement (ARIDE) Instructor, and Emergency Vehicle Operations Instructor.
James is the co-owner and Chief Instructor of J and J Family Defense, LLC, which offers quality firearms and personal defense training on all levels, specializing in basic Concealed Carry Classes for those new to shooting. James strives to provide quality training in a comfortable and friendly environment.
