My enjoyment for shooting started when I was young. My official training began when I was 19: trap, hunting, handguns. My instructors included prior police officers, Vietnam Nam Vets, and others who wanted to share their expertise – all amazing men!
I attended Colorado School of Trades, graduating with 2,000 hours of hands-on training, letters of recommendation from the instructors and selected to chamber rifles because of my ability to meet tolerances within 1/10th of .0001 of an inch. It is a craft as much as a technical achievement.
I joined the U.S. Air Force as an aircraft machinist. I earned my expert shooter badge in Basic Training. I volunteered to help manage the trap shooting rang on Eielson AFB, AK. I have hunted and fished in Alaska. Each animal was down with a single shot with the .270 I built while in gunsmiths school. I went on to retire from the Air Force & the Alaska Air National Guard with 31 years of active service, retiring as a colonel, 0-6.
It was 2017 when I engaged in additional handgun training, joined The Well Armed Women and Point Blank. I am a certified USCCA firearms trainer. I have attend Front Sight handgun training.
I enjoy coaching new shooters, especially women who are anxious for a variety of reasons.
I like to team instruct to enhance learning.
