Situational Awareness or "mindfulness" is being aware of what is going on around you.
Situational Awareness involves being aware of what is happening in your vicinity to understand how sensory information, events, and your own actions will influence your situation, both immediately and in the future. This kind of training is important in enhancing your personal safety and by practicing situational awareness, you can often avoid being in dangerous situation.
Point Blank developed this workshop to familiarize students with the basic concepts, human factors, and physiology as they pertain to situational awareness. This course will introduce concepts such as the decision-making cycle, reaction times, levels of awareness and Acute Stress Response. We will conduct a series of skill building exercises to hone your observational skills and help increase your overall awareness. Finally, this course will discuss basic techniques and proactive measures you can do every day to help make your world a safer place.
